The Green Home Advantage, LLC (TGHA) offers five different residential energy services. Two are for existing homes and two are for planned homes and one is for new homes. The summary below should help you quickly find the one that best suits your needs.
Home Energy AUDIT (for an existing home)
- Benefits the homeowner.
- The primary goal is to reduce home energy use by up to 50%.
- The secondary goal is to increase the home's value.
- The Federal tax credit pays for up to 30% of improvement costs (up to $1,500).
HERO Final RATING (for an existing home)
- Benefits the homeowner.
- The primary goal is to qualify the home for the Louisiana HERO rebate program.
- The secondary goal is to obtain a HERO certificate for marketing purposes.
- The HERO rebate pays up to $3,000.
- (Annual energy savings in kWh x $.02/kWh x 15 yrs.)
Home PLANS AUDIT (for a planned home)
- Benefits the homeowner.
- The primary goal is to reduce the home's future energy use by up to 75%.
- The secondary goal is to make the home more comfortable and healthy.
- Qualify for an Energy Efficient Mortgage (EEM) which allows for larger mortgage payments because of reduced utility payments.
Home PLANS RATING (for a planned home)
- Benefits the builder.
- The primary goal is to qualify the builder for the Federal tax credit.
- The secondary goal is to obtain an ENERGY STAR certificate for marketing purposes
- The "all-or-nothing" Federal tax credit is $2,000.
HERO New Home Rating (for a new home)
- Benefits the builder.
- The goal is to qualify the builder for HERO rebates.
- The rebate levels are $2,000 (HERS 70) and $3,000 (50% HVAC energy improvement over IECC 2004).
